In Italian, ristretto means “restrict”. The ristretto, is actually the shorter sibling of the espresso. In terms of their creation, the two drinks are almost the same. The same dose of coffee is placed into the same equipment handle, with the same water temperature and pressure. The difference is where it uses less water and so makes a smaller drink...
